People -- Tom Yu, Development Team Leader
Tom Yu graduated from MIT with a degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics. He has been working on MIT Kerberos since 1993. He has been the security contact and release engineer for MIT Kerberos for almost as long. His skills include programming and debugging, from higher level languages down to machine code and hardware; systems administration on a variety of platforms; protocol design and analysis; security vulnerability analysis; and applied cryptography.
In the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), Tom has contributed to documents revising the Kerberos protocol specification. He co-chairs the Simple Authentication and Security Layer (SASL) Working Group, and also contributes to the Kerberos (KRB-WG) and Common Authentication Technologies Next Generation (KITTEN) Working Groups. He reviews and analyzes the security of network protocols.
He has taught classes in programming the PostScript typesetting language and in analyzing software security vulnerabilities.
